Dr John Kipngetich Mosonik is the new Chancellor of Rongo University, following his appointment early this week.
President William Ruto, through a gazette notice, appointed Dr Mosonik to the helm of the institution located in Migori County.
A seasoned technocrat with executive experience in infrastructure development and policy formulation in both public and private sectors spanning three decades, he unsuccessfully vied for the Bomet gubernatorial seat during the 2022 General Elections.
An electrical engineer by profession, Dr Mosonik is a former Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Mining and a former Principal Secretary for Infrastructure. He currently serves on the board of telecommunications giant Safaricom.
He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Strategic Leadership from Northcentral University (USA) and a PhD in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Moi University, Kenya. He also holds postgraduate degrees in Digital Transformation, Finance, and Business Administration from renowned international universities, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications) from the University of Nairobi.
Dr Mosonik is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (FIEK) and a registered member of the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
