Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament, Hon. Johana Kipyegon Ng’eno, on Friday, 13th June 2025, participated in a high-level women empowerment forum held in West Mugirango, Nyamira County. The event was graced by the Deputy President, H.E. Hon. Kithure Kindiki, and brought together national and local leaders, community stakeholders, and women’s groups committed to advancing the economic and social empowerment of women.
In his address, Hon. Ng’eno highlighted the importance of investing in women as a catalyst for economic transformation at the grassroots level. He emphasized that when women are empowered through access to financial resources, markets, and training their families and communities thrive.
“Empowering women is not just a moral obligation; it is a strategic investment in our nation’s future. By creating inclusive spaces for women to trade, innovate, and lead, we lay the groundwork for sustainable development,” he stated. The MP also called for the construction of modern, safe, and accessible markets tailored to support women traders. Such infrastructure, he noted, will ensure that women conduct their businesses in dignified conditions, enhancing productivity and economic security.
The event underscored the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting women’s economic participation through policy, infrastructure development, and capacity-building programs. Hon. Ng’eno reaffirmed his pledge to replicate and support similar empowerment initiatives within Emurua Dikirr Constituency, ensuring that no woman is left behind in the journey toward national progress. “This is about empowering families, revitalizing neighborhoods, and building a Kenya where everyone—especially women—has the opportunity to succeed,” he concluded.
