What began as the dream of a determined village boy has now evolved into a national moment of reckoning. In a defining event held in Nairobi on June 8, 2025, Peter Kipkirui, a young voice from the quiet hills of Chapalungu, officially launched his debut book “DIRTY GAME?”igniting a nationwide conversation on governance, accountability, and political truth in Kenya.
The book, a daring exposé and thoughtful critique of the country’s political landscape, was unveiled before an audience filled with senior government officials, youth leaders, activists, and supporters. The tone of the event was both celebratory and sobering a tribute to courage and a call to conscience.
Chief among the guests was Hon. Dr. Isaac Mwaura, the Government Spokesman, who attended as the Chief Guest. He praised Kipkirui for his boldness and thought leadership, calling his voice “refreshing, timely, and necessary.” Dr. Mwaura remarked, “It is rare to see a young Kenyan take such a fearless step not only to tell his story but to challenge the country to reflect on what leadership truly means.”
Peter Kipkirui’s journey from a village boy with a dream and a pen to a nationally recognized author resonated deeply with the crowd. His message was clear: Kenya must reckon with its leadership failures, and DIRTY GAME? is the first bold step toward doing so. The book is not just a political commentary; it is a reflection of lived experiences, aspirations betrayed, and a deep longing for better leadership.
In attendance were several prominent leaders and friends who have walked with Kipkirui through his journey. Among them were Hon. Josses Lelmengit, a youthful and dynamic Member of Parliament; Hon. Dr. Albert Kochei; Hon. CPA Wendy K. Chebaibai; Hon. Dr. John Chumo; and Dr. William Songok. Each took time to publicly commend Kipkirui for his authenticity, bravery, and commitment to raising the standard of leadership in Kenya.
During his remarks, Kipkirui stated, “This book is not just a critique; it is a call to action to awaken a new generation of ethical, accountable, and people-centered leaders.” His passionate delivery stirred the audience, many of whom later noted the significance of his words in light of Kenya’s current political challenges.
Following the launch in Nairobi, Kipkirui traveled to Bomet on June 14, 2025, where he hosted a book review session that further extended the reach of his message. The Bomet event brought together students, professionals, elders, and local leaders for a grounded conversation on leadership, governance, and the responsibility of citizens to demand integrity.
What stood out at both events was the authenticity of the conversation. Unlike typical political discussions, the dialogues sparked by DIRTY GAME? were rooted in lived truths, practical challenges, and a shared hope for better governance in Kenya. Kipkirui’s work is emerging not just as a book but as the beginning of a movement one driven by values, honesty, and fearless questioning.
As guests left the event, many could be heard saying that this was more than a launch it was a wake-up call. Kipkirui’s story, his voice, and his vision all point to one undeniable truth: young Kenyans are ready to lead, and they are no longer willing to play by the old rules of the “dirty game.”
In his closing remarks, Kipkirui expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who believed in him especially those who stood by him when he had only his story and his determination. “To those who believed in my voice when I had nothing but a pen and a dream, thank you,” he said. “This is just the beginning.”
DIRTY GAME? is now available in bookstores and through select online platforms. Its release is expected to spark further discussions across universities, civic forums, and even political spaces. For many, it is the book Kenya didn’t know it needed until now.

Wow! Congratulations daddy,
I have a strong desire to read from my brother thoughts about the Kenyan politics .
